Just noticed these are now over-16 only.
Shame, I was 7 when my dad first took me on the walks from the Mourne Countryside Centre that used to be beside the Avoca in Newcastle. There was always a large range of people and I never recall struggling to keep up with the group. Wasn't 'lanes' either... Eagle, Bearnagh, and that stormy day on Commedagh when a lady broke her leg and had to be helicoptered off. I got to sit in a bivvy bag as the group waited against the wall, and got a ride down the Trassey Track in the MRT Landrover - kids are missing out these days ;D

I'm reading that 16+ only thing as being an insurance thing for guided walks..
As long as folks like Dowser and RL keep dragging their little 'uns into the hills all will be well.

Must be - liability, 'elf & safety :(
As you say, at least there's the NI-wild spirit providing an alternative support group :)
