First thing I noticed too but was going to turn a blind eye this time!!! I'm sure Chuck will get round to replacing it with green para-cord  ;)

Chuck, I noticed some of your other photos of the Mourne wall, I take you took them between Rocky and and the Bog of Donard.  It gets to be some height along that section, I've walked on the wall there and it gets a bit hairy at times!

last time i walked along there it was so misty i didn't see the wall and had to zig zag through the bog  :(

Not my fault...'effin Heath and Safety. :)

@whoRya: Yup, that's the bit. I'd forgotten how tall it was along that stretch, like you I normally walk on it to stay out of the mud.

What's the poncho/ground sheet/ruck cover?
Something I picked up recently from the ex-army shop out back of Castle Court. It's just a thin plastic poncho (http://www.surplusandadventure.com/shop/clothing/gore-tex-waterproofs/camouflage-waterproofs/web-tex-british-dpm-camouflage-468858.html), found it works great as a rucksack cover (esp. when I overpack and the real cover just doesn't fit (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcrobert/4655735582/in/set-72157624171971328)), folds up small enough to fit into the original cover's pocket. Also handy to throw over yourself and ruck as you go along to avoid them five minute rain showers you get before the sun comes out again and bakes you (I hate stopping getting into waterproofs and starting again just for the rain to stop) . Lastly it works just as something to sit/lie on. (some folks have even been known to use it as a tarp (http://i738.photobucket.com/albums/xx28/Whynotwebbing/Shelters/DSCF3619.jpg))....only down side is you can look a bit of a moron (http://www.caminodesantiago.me/camino-wiki/images/Poncho.jpg) in it  ;D

@Hunter: thanks :)

(ps just posted route map (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcrobert/6299723275/in/set-72157628013570464/) and profile (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcrobert/6299723489/in/set-72157628013570464/))

Nice one. Liam used a red poncho/tarp on commedagh, seemed to do the trick nicely for him & son.
