Title: Argos Teepees Half Price
Post by: RedLeader on June 03, 2009
Argos have their Teepees at half price again. See them Here (http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001501&langId=-1&searchTerms=teepee&Submit=GO+%3E).

They have 2 / 4 and 12 person for £24.44, £44.94 and £89.99

I don't think they're overly high quality and the reviews are mixed but at £24 I'm getting one for a mess. I think they wouldn't stand up to a torrential downpower but in fair weather they seem fine. Also, if it worrys you, I hear that he groundsheet isn't attached to the tent which is good because you can save weight and not take it but bad if you're scared of wee beasties... Also, it's single skin 2,000 HH.

The 2 man one:

If anyone has any experience of them post your thoughts (especially if you know if it can be hung so you don't have to take the pole).

I have wanted a teepee for years.  Now may be the time saying as i manage to wreck two tents last year...

I put it up last night - can't decide if it was a good buy or not. The groundsheet not being bathtub seems like its asking for a wet bum but I suppose you just need to pick a good pitch. Also the groundsheet only comes to within an inch or so of the sides so theres a noticeable gap. Time will tell if a single skin is waterproof enough. I think I'd be game to try it if I was forest camping - I'd just make sure and take a bivi bag too incase of leakage.

I think these tent's are great I got one last year and I wont use anything else for family camping now, I have used it in some rough weather and it didn't leak or let water in once.

I got the Vango Juno 300 Teepee because I wasn't sure about not having a bathtub floor. It turned out to be quite good although I've only spend one weekend in it. I'll post a few pics and a review when I get a mo.

£50 off the shelf at Tiso which is around the price you'd get it online. One thing I would say is it's still heavy enough that you wouldn't take it walking, only really for car camping in which case I'm sorry I didn't get the 500 which is £80 and obviously roomier.

I'm starting to realise that tents are more about personal preference and experience so if any (reliable types  ::)) want to borrow it or the Argos teepee they can.
