New knife ,a seasoned beech log and crap weather for kayaking resulted in my first attempt at a wood spirit
Only managed to stab myself once

Very nice, you should carve something similar into one of the kayak oars.

Ermm .. my yak paddle is carbon fibre don't think it would carve to well ;D

Great job. I've had a hook knife for making spoons rattling around the house for years but it's yet to be brought out in anger.

Yeah i saw it . but I don't have any gouges or V tools .. I carved that with the knife pictured in my " New Hammock" post
