Title: FOR SALE : Astronomy Telescope + Books
Post by: RedLeader on September 09, 2011
Skywatcher Explorer 150p reflector telescope with spotting scope, 10mm & 25mm lens and 3x barlow mounted on a sturdy German EQ3-2 equatorial mount. I'll also bundle "Nightwatch" and "Turn Left at Orion" astronomy books plus a Planisphere and Moon Map. These will explain how to use a telescope and give detailed information on how to locate hundreds of interesting objects along with what is good to see in each season.

This is a perfect beginner astronomy set with everything you need to get started including instructional books and maps. The scope is a 6" reflector which is a great size for seeing distant objects like nebulae and galaxies as well as the planets and their moons in our own solar system.

Scope is 3 years old and in great order due to not being used much (hence the sale).

Info:
The Explorer 150/750 Newtonian reflector is a step up from the 130 mm version and is classed as an F5 scope. With 150 mm aperture. It has 33% more light gathering than the 130 mm and being a faster telescope is more suitable deep sky objects. These also comes supplied with a much sturdier EQ3-2 tripod mount, which helps when pushing it to higher magnifications. Like the 130. It is possible to do some basic astrophotography with these telescopes. For someone beginning in astronomy, any of the skywatchers we have would be suitable for starting out with.
