I bought a pair of the ladies rain trousers last year, they were definitely worth the money! They kept me dry on many a wet day up the mountains  ;D

I wear them cycling in wet weather as well. They have velcro strips at the bottom so you can keep them nice and tight..  They were a great buy!, as i only paid £7.99 for them last year ;D.

I can take it that they are not gore-tex. Interesting. I use gore-tex leggings along with the jacket on the bike but I'm not happy with the trouser performance --- I put it down to the knee movement. Never thought of replacing them with something simple. (even if I do sweat in them ). Thanks Vinny

No.. not Gor-tex.. cheap and cheerful,,  they are much nosier (is that a word?) than tights or leggings, but if you stick your i-pod in, sure you'll hear nothing  :D. I wear thermal 'long johns' (also from lidl) with the water proofs over the top. I can honestly say they have never let me down, either up the mountains or on the bike.. My only regret is that i didnt buy 2 or 3 pairs last year. Mine are black, and the colours this year dont go with my black long johns  ;D  Haw Haw
