Title: Winter Adventures
Post by: Rumblebum on August 26, 2011
Alrite folks, sadly it looks like the nights are starting to get dark and our cocktail of torrential rain, howling winds and  freaky snow might be starting to kick in.

This wont stop many of us from having our day out in the mountains, and the 2 days of drying our gear out, but have any of you done many sleep overs in the mournes late winter december time, ive got this urge to be up there when the snows kicked in.

I'm lookin to do plenty of winter camping this year, need to get myself a decent warm sleeping bag and a decent sleep mat, but the budget is tight!

Our best trips have mostly been in winter. It's a great time of year to be in the mountains. Hopefully we'll get more than a few summit camps in between now and next year.

Simon, was that your actual campsite? And if it was then why arn't you on stronger medication!

That looks awesome but it would be the kind of night that you wouldnt forget in a hurry.

Flip me lads, I know the weather is nothing wonderful, but it's a bit early to be getting giddy about snow!

Yup, that was the actual pitch - bloody amazing night, the sky was awesome. Down below minus 10 by late evening, don't know how far the temp dropped.

Lol, it's never too early to be thinking about snow!
