Ok so the Hammock and Tarp has arrived (currently residing in my boot!!)
Have got a couple of climbing karabiners to insert into the webbing to stop me getting soaked in the middle of the night - anyone any advice on how to do this? Do I need to cut the webbing?
Many thanks in advance

This can be a bit of a daunting task mate but once you do the first cut you will be flying.
What i done was pull the webbing through untill you have about a 6 inches each side and then cut, and just tie a double fishermans knot and that is pretty much you, the knot held the best for me and i'm of a heftier than the average guy size :D. http://www.animatedknots.com/doublefishermans/index.php?Categ=scouting&LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com
Also have a look at this set up,
