Title: Official campsites.
Post by: Dollywaggon on May 31, 2011
I can find only 1 marked on the OS 1:25000 at Tollymore. I keep bumping into the Duke of Ed. crowd and they are not all heading to Tollymore !!!!!! ( met an organiser who said they tend to use campsites as opposed to camping wild ).

Tollymore, Castlewellan, Meelmore Lodge and Bloody Bridge Campsite are the 4 main ones that come to mind.

What is Leitrim Lodge?  Are there any others out that way?

It's a car park and scene of regular vandalism

If there are official campsites I would like them to added to the OS 1:25000 as per usual. Personally I camp wild and had a good winter session (3wks) before Xmas north of Ben Crom Res. If I go to top up my food supplies in Newcastle I will bivvy in the woods and walk back next day. Don't drive and often like the luxury of a hot wash/shower in a camp site ,if it is convenient, before my bus/coach journey home. Vinny
