Hello peeps! I received a Fenix PD30 R5 ad some accessories for review today. I'm going to test it out over the next three weeks and will be bringing it to test on the PLOD (formerly known as the iPlod!)
I unboxed it and had a quick play this afternoon: http://www.northern-focus.com/gear/outdoor-gear/fenix-pd30-r5-quick-look/
I'll post up a full review once I had a chance to give it a good run out. If anyone has anything they want me to test with it then just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I think you'll have great fun testing out the strobe light mode :D Good video review, looking forward to seeing the final verdict!

turbo mode sounds good...

Cheers Jon, I just replied to your comment about the disco tent! (Which reminds me, I'd meant to add a strobe warning to the video in case anyone who is susceptible to strobe light watches it)
Liam - turbo light is bloomin' bright! Now that it's getting dark I'm going to take it outside and have a play. I expect to cause my very own dawn chorus as soon as I switch it on ;D

I bought an 'instant Fenix collection' from another forum a while ago and am very impressed. I have recently got the red filter like yours :) The CR123A batteries give out seriously light but can be costly here :-\ I highly recommend Dealextreme; you can get 5 for £3 with free shipping. Can take about 3 weeks to deliver from China ::)

I'd like to see how the camping lampshade works out. I also use a Nitecore Headband which turns two great hand torches into one great head torch ;D

And yes I know what the light diffuser looks like ::) Don't want that falling out of my bag :o

:D A Light Diffuser? Is that what they call it these days? :P

So I got to try the PD30 out on the PLOD a couple of weekends ago, but it's taken me a while to get the field test/review written. It's up online now:

It's a great bit of kit and worked really well. It was only let down as a head torch when used under a hood and the only other downside is the fact it uses two CR123 batteries ... the price may also be a downside, but value is a personal thing and one for you to judge yourself ;-)
