Explore the Lough Neagh Canoe Trail including an overnight camp on Coney Island.
This event is being organised by the Canoe Association of Northern Ireland (CANI) for paddlers of all abilities and will be led by a team of qualified CANI coaches.
So as long as you can paddle 6 miles at a comfortable pace then come along. There is nothing like spending a few days with like minded people.
The trip will begin at 10 am on Saturday and finish by 1pm on Sunday including an overnight camp on Coney Island.
There will be a opportunity afterwards to travel to Ballyronan Marina to watch the final of the International Canoe Polo Competiton.
Equipment
o Sea kayaks or Open canoes can be booked by contacting CANI. Cost £5 per day
o Paddles and buoyancy aids can be borrowed from CANI and can be arranged to be at the start point for you. Book through CANI
o You should be prepared for all types of weather by bringing waterproof clothing, warm clothes, sun cream, lots of water
o Be self sufficient for all meals
Age Limit
o There are no age limits for the trips, If you are able to paddle for 6 miles at a comfortable pace then come along.
o Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Cost
o The trips will be free for members and £10 for non CANI members
