Just purchased a new tent with the other half.
Its a Coleman http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coleman-Pictor-Two-Man-Tent/dp/B0030BG9N8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1305809880&sr=8-1 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coleman-Pictor-Two-Man-Tent/dp/B0030BG9N8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1305809880&sr=8-1)
Will get its first night out tomorrow. Due to amazon next day delivery, a months free trial might I add too. Only bought it a few hours ago and its coming tomorrow morning. :)

r u planing to go hiking with that?
-
Hoping to.
Maybe not a full days hike, but definitely a few more in the wild locations.
-
If you can split it between two you'll be fine. Now to get that bad boy wet :D
-
Plenty of porch room as well :)
-
Yeah its to be split between two. And agreed with the porch room, thats what swung it for us. Nothing worse than it raining and having no where to cook dinner.
-
Oh and we're testing it tomorrow and Saturday night @ Carnfunnock campsite, Larne.
Anyone wants to join us feel free to drop me or Grace a message.
-
Lucky you. After you give it an airing in Carnfunnock get off into the Mournes for some wild camping!

Down the road from me ;D
I just picked up a Vango Banshee 300 from Decathlon. Definitely have to get out in it soon.
Also have a Lichfield Apache 4+ for car camping. Plenty o' space with two porches but it's no backpacking tent :o

Mournes are a big distance, I will get there at some point.
Thinking of trying the Sperrins, seems good also. Think I read its the most unexplored mountian range in northern ireland. (that might of been tourism propaganda though)
-
I live at the foot of the sperrins and they are barely walked. Although they are not as high as the mournes they cover a much greater area. Cuilcagh in Fermanagh doesnt get much attention either. The thing is the mournes can be like the M1 sometimes!
Enjoy Carnfunnock, I've been camping there too. The coffee shop does a great cooked breakfast, or it did when I was there. Great view too.
-
Agreed, only thing is public transport down that area is a bit scarse. ever since the train line got removed back in the day.
-
Jeez that was even before my time! No it's buses only but if you get as far as Omagh, give me a shout as I could drop you and Grace off at the bottom of the nearest hill. PM me if you want to do that.
-
Thanks alot mate. I might actually take you up on that sometime during the summer. :)
-
Looks good. Nice porch and two doors (always handy when the wind changes and extra ventilation).
-
it does seem very big for only 3.35kg, excellent
-
My thoughts exactly. I'm just wondering what it packs like. I'll let you guys know some time next week.
-
Congratulations. I always liked that shape of tent as they are pretty cosy to sit in if the weather turns foul (which lets face it, happens often!). Also great for cycle touring if you can fit your bikes in the porch.

Tent came this morning at half eight. You should all try the free trail prime account on amazon. Insane. Anyway seems awesome so far as I cant take it out of the bag til Oisin comes down this afternoon so at the minute all I can tell you is Nice colours and weight is decent for halving. :)
-
I haven't ordered off Amazon in a while; they do rock even with free shipping ;D
Some places on the mainland can get same day delivery if they're near one of their DC's.

That's close to where we pitched last year ;D
It had rained quite heavy the previous few days so I wasn't brave / stupid enough to bring the car up. A few did and made a real mess of the grass ::)
I like your 2nd pic of family breakfast ;D

Camped on a bit further down the slope. Not much drainage, we we're sort of swamped.
