It's a problem that annoys me, especially when your walking in the beautiful hills.
Is there any "walking" underwear especially designed for this.
Advice would be nice saying I have shared this embarrassing issue.
Thanks

Rohan make some really good stuff. Take a quick look at the website. expensive but.

I tend to wear shorts underneath and have no bother

Seconded. Cool silver trunks are great.
The icebreaker stuff is amazing too, but even more expensive. Lowe and Haglofs also spring to mind.
People buy wicking baselayers but continue to wear cotton undies. A good pair of pants makes a world of difference!

Cycling shorts work a treat, and they're cheap as chips in some of the discount sports stores.

M&Ss Ultra Fit stuff seems to have good reviews. I looked for them in store but they weren't stocked. Apparently you can order online to collect in the store and then you don't pay delivery.

I wear the wifes ;D or my haglofs I never really thought about what undewear until I wore them out for a walk and they are always the first thing I put on

I've never had a problem, but I did a training course with a bloke who always went commando... Come to think of it, is that where the phrase 'going commando' comes from?

Chaffed a lot in normal shorts, but got these Red Ram Boxers - merino wool - £25 - and they are just fantastic... also proud to say I'm wore them for 3 weeks "solid" while on a walking holiday - and they're just great... but then it does say in the advertising blurb - can wear for a month without washing.... ( i think !!).... I look forward to the next time i dont change my trunks - hopefully next time - i'll do the full month.... :D

I wear the Helly Hansen boxers when walking, and bought them from Field & Trek (http://www.fieldandtrek.com/helly-hansen-boxer-short-402086) for £16. Pretty pricey for a pair of skiddies, but cheaper than Merino and to be honest the added comfort is well worth it. No more chaffing and no more horrible cotton getting soaked with rain or sweat. If I could afford to I would probably buy the Icebreaker Merino boxers as they stay fresher for much, much longer than synthetics, but when it comes to paying at the till I always end up going synthetic ;)

I normally wear just normal pants rather than my normal boxers as i find the boxers ride up my legs and then chaff when i'm walking. Been walking the mournes for years and luckily never had any bother.

Give it a chance - it's the closet we have to lingerie: it's as much about making us feel special as looking good :D
