Not knowing much about the man who has a phenomenal achievement, but I'd have thought for someone of that calibre there would be many many more mountains (even more difficult) to be the focus of his efforts.  Many of the top mountaineers seem to dislike the culture around Everest expeditions which seem to have been sanitised somewhat.

Everest is were the big money is for a mountain Guide. Kenton Cool owns the company he guides for so its a business deal as a much as a record.

He's also guided Sir Ran up the North face of the Eiger.

He has a pretty good cv on other mountains with a couple of first time ski descents of mountains in the greater ranges.
