My first summit bivvy on Bernagh. It was a good friday years ago and the weather was perfect. Spoke to a man passing over as dusk fell (who I believe may have been that Trail/TGO fella with the glasses who reviews the gear (name is escaping me))... that is an aside; not the awe inspiring thing  :P

I tucked in and viewed a rainbow horizon melting into every deepening blue, with perfect trails of smoke from 100 bbqs reaching arrow-straight to the heavens. There was not a breeze, and I read by my candle lantern until the stars filled my dreams. Dawn was almost as special:

an inversion layer when at the top of donard years ago, before I had my own camera unfortunately, really felt like you were walking in the clouds!

Probably standing on the summit of Donard at 3am on a completely clear, still night. Also, looking across the Annalong Valley at the Devils Coachroad on a bright sunny day was spectacular.

WoW, great photo.

Cheers Gerry!
Twas a tripod /slide film /hard ND grad filter effort to capture. I used a spirit level too, but you wouldn't think it! (my camera's hotshoe must be out of line  ::) )

Just can't find the photo at the minute of the 2 of us reaching the top.  ;)
