Title: good gear doesn't have to be expensive
Post by: LandyLiam on April 29, 2011
My sons birthday yesterday so got him a ex-army bivvy bag, ex-armycoat overtrousers and a sprayway coat, all gore-tex and all for under £30 total  :o on ebay.

So good gear doesn't have to be expensive  ;D

well the bivvy bag has an 18 inch rip in it, but its on the top and i have a spare goretex sheet i can sew on so it should kept out the worst of the weather.

In the mournes today i found an old camo tent lying beside a bin (without poles), so that'll do him as a tarp, no point in wasting expensive gear on him, it could come back in any condition, you know what these teenagers are like  :D
