Hi All,
I am pondering the idea of organising a 'Splash and Dash Day' which would incorporate me coaching and rescuing you guys in kayaks and possibly canoes.
If you are interested in partaking, we could maybe make it a family day at Castlewellan with BBQ and possible camp.
Let me know what you think.. I am thinking of June/July time..

I'm in :)

Yes please, might finally get to use my canoe that has never seen water other than rain!
when you say rescuing will that involve mouth to mouth ;D
-
Only if you require it!

Are you talking about coaching us in rescue or using us to rescue in order to coach other people? There's a handful of peeps on here with canoes, I'd say we could definitely get a good crowd together for some fun on the water.
I'm in ofc.

Well when I say rescue.. I was thinking that I might have to if peeps fall in.. But it might be good at the end of the day to teach you how to.
-
Can we get access to kayak hire?

Would love to, done a bit of kayaking and canoeing, but don't have my own. So if we can hire kit then I'm in.
-
I should be able to get a trailer of kayaks from the outdoor centre I work in, along with BA's.
-
I'm def in. I have a kayak that s holding up a lawn mower in my garage ::)
-
I'd be keen for a wee paddle around, but would either need to hire or hop on board with someone else :) Castlewellan Lake sounds good as well, as does BBQ after!
-
We should definitely get some numbers together for this, it sounds like an ace idea.

Mine does something like that too.

Yep Yep Yep count me in and on a personnel note I will need rescued :o
-
I would be interested in this. I understand you can hire them down there? Last I heard anyway.
WOuld be pleased to see this happen.
-
If you can rent the kit count both me an alanrsv in :)
I would defo be up for this as long as the renting kit option is there.

All you really need is warmish clothing. If you don't have a wet suit then shorts, tee and a water proof jacket to keep the wind off you. Thinking the first weekend in July but no definite dates yet. Need to book the boats etc. Let me know if that suits..
