Post by: suspectmonkey on March 29, 2011: I've used the iPhone app a few times, but not nearly as much as I should! Gotta admit, its pretty cool. I tend to use Spotify on my home computer, although I see they've had a few problems (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-12891182) recently.

Post by: suspectmonkey on March 30, 2011: Best way to describe it is like a free radio station were you get to pick the playlist! In Last.FM you just stick in the name of an artist and it will play their songs along with other songs of a similar genre. Bit like "Genius" in iTunes, but you don't need to buy any of the music. It's a great way to discover new music. Spotify also has a similar radio feature to Last.FM but you can play through albums as well. Best of all you can create Playlists, so I just create a Playlist for each album I like and let it run through the songs. Every third song or so a brief advert plays. You can also cache music to play offline, but I never bother with that. Both Last.FM and Spotify have iPhone apps, but while Last.FM is free you have to be on a paid Spotify account to use their app. Think MikeD has Spotify on his phone and used it the night we were on Doan.

Post by: Tim on March 30, 2011: I don't use it that much any more for the radio/recommendation features as I have way too much music to get through without adding more to the list. I always have it scrobbling away in the background though and its nice to look back at my listening habits every now and again.
