Now I have kids want to show them some of the great places and things we have here and give them some of the experiences I had

i thought i'd do that with my kids too, they weren't that interested  :'( they'd rather be nearer a plug socket  ;D

Welcome, no shortage of nippers around here. We do quite regular Donard Wood camps with kids and I think our record is a 4 year old summit bivvying on Binnian. (Should note his Dad was there, he didn't come on his own :D)

I have the same issue with a 12 year old but always found he was reluctant to go but once he was there he usually had a great time. If there's a few kids about, once you get the fire going and they have a rumble around the forest they're usually fine.

Plenty in the same boat Dave, welcome along.

Edit:  just after I hit reply, I thought "That was a bit weird, where did 'welcome along' come from, I don't think I've ever said that before."  Then when the thread came back up I saw the post above.

Sorry Matthew ;)
