Hey people, Stumbled upon this site looking for cove cave information, though id just went through a big hole in the mountain, turns out i was in cove cave.
Anyway, the point of me being here is I'd like to try and get a walking group together to do hikes all over Ireland. I enjoy all walks but its getting a little boring on my own and I'm beginning to argue with myself while out lol. If any one likes this idea please please contact me. I'm thinking every other saturday at the minute. I've began recording my trails on my phone which are uploaded to everytrail. Dont buy the app, the free one is fine.
I also like being a little adventurous, ie: climbs with no ropes etc is anyone else is into that give me a shout, I love to do more.
Craigy.

Hi Craigy, welcome to the forum! To be honest, its a bit like an unofficial walking club here but without the Thermos flasks and sandwiches (well, except when Landy Liam is out with us :P)! There is usually loads happening between day hikes, overnight trips, long distance walks, paddling, caving, archery etc... You wont be short of company around here, and its always nice to have other people to argue with other than yourself ;D

I'd agree with Suspect, although NI-Wild caters to all outdoors activities we tend to mostly walk / hike / camp. There have been musings about creating a more official weekend walking group where we'd do shorter hikes on a Sat / Sun. If you're interested PM me.
Oh, and, welcome to the forum :)

I'd be more than interested in getting involved in other things too. I recently canoed from Cullybacky to randalstown which was good, though had to walk at galgorm manor, it was just a little crazy for me. Cheers for the welcomes and I'll keep my eye on new posts to see if there are any walks happening. Planning a coastal one soon, causeway to carrick-a-reed and back, let me know thoughts on this.

p.s. its not always tea in my flask ;)

If its not tea then it would be rude not to share would it not? After a Ben Nevis hike we got a wee shot of Johnny Walker at the bottom, by the time we got back to the hotel and had another wee drink I think most of us were a bit giggly.
