Title: Pub grub
Post by: Scribble on February 13, 2011
I'm heading down to scrabo tower on Tuesday for a wee romantic stroll  with my wife and then probably be taking a drive along the coast , does anyone know of somewhere that I can get a nice bit of food and service along the way , I have been to Groomsport think it's the stables a few times so would like somewhere in that direction .

Cheers Andy

I can recommend Pier 36 at Donaghadee, just at the harbour.  Have eaten there 4 times and have enjoyed good food and service in comfortable surroundings.  Being right on the shore means you can also have a walk before and/or after you stuff yourself. Guiness tastes great too.

I'd second Pier 36.  Haven't been there in awhile, but its good grub in a nice location and always gets a good report.

One place I'd like to go, but havent had a chance yet, is Balloo House (http://www.balloohouse.com/).  I've heard very good things about it, might be a bit out of your way but worth considering.  Bistro menu looks good to me!
