Title: Ipod Touch
Post by: VMCC on January 23, 2011
I got an Ipod Touch 4g for Christmas and have quickly learnt it's limitations when compared with the Iphone. My navigation apps are no good without GPS and the geocaching app is pretty useless, although I do have the free version downloaded so if I manage to get some wifi I can find three caches near that location which could be useful in an urban environment.

One non wifi app I have downloaded is Bug Spray, which emits a very high tone (apparently) keeping the bugs at bay. I haven't yet put it into practice yet. The Flashlight App will be useful when camping, but I've found the 'Star Walk' app which names the constellations is wifi reliant. I'm also going to be without weather info, which is probably the one app I would want the most.

I still like my little unit and when I have access to the net it's a fantastic little gadget. When I don't have access I still have some books and the latest copy of the Readers Digest to peruse if I get bored...and of course all my tunes.

So I wondered what iphone or ipod apps you have all found useful when in the great outdoors.
