Me Suspectmonkey and Kat took a quick snowy once around Cave Hill yesterday. We went the longer route initially following the Zoo perimeter that meets the regular trail above the Devils Punchbowl. It was enjoyable seeing the enclosures from above although sensibly the animals must have been hiding in the warm. The weather was bitingly cold with plenty of snow and ice on the ground making the going treacherous for me and Kat but Jonny seemed to have glue on his shoes and had no problems at all. Goes to show the difference footwear can have!

The closest I got was looking out the window of a nursing home in Whiteabbey, but I did comment that the hill looked brilliant. Some really nice photos, I really like #6. I'm sure it was a great afternoon.

Great pics.
"The Cavey" always produces some spectacular views, whether looking up at it or looking down from it.
Love pic #1. I can see my house in it.
Alan.

I was pushed for time on Saturday so couldn't get to the Mournes. Went to Cavehill instead in the afternoon. Initially thought I was overdressed in my mountain garb but as I progressed along and up the path I was glad of what I was wearing. The wind was biting cold and the ground was very icy in places. The best bit was having a hot cup at the top whilst enjoying the spectacular views. Well worth the walk and convenient for me to get to. Your photos are good and capture the real beauty of the place.

I always feel over dressed going up Cavehill, no matter what time of year it is! I do like using it to test new kit before taking it out proper, but as you say sometimes you can be really thankfully of it when you get to the top!

It was surprisingly chilly on Sunday, much colder than I had been expecting and colder than I can remember it being up there.
