My mate and I were just finishing a walk around 4. We didn't hear anything, although were well round at Carricklittle.
That's awful news. Cloud was drifting between 4-500m all day, but from the report it sounds like trouble on board rather than any nav mistakes.
Scary. Thoughts with the families involved and the MRTs. :(

sad news indeed, not so long since i did my helicopter trip round the mournes, makes it all the more poignant :'(

I didn't know about the crash until the following morning when I picked up a text from RedLeader. We were at our camp spot just after 6pm, and Leitrim Lodge was pretty much just over the hill. Coming down from Spelga direction on Saturday we heard sirens and saw a Police Land Rover (could have been MR). On Sunday we saw two MR Land Rovers going up a track, working in conjunction with two Police helicopters. I believe they recovered the bodies on Sunday.
Sad news.
