Anyone know of any triathlons scheduled in NI early next year? I'd like to have a go at one but can't be arsed to wait untill the summer and none of the athletics clubs seems to have updated their calenders to 2011 yet.

Not sure mate. What about trying an adventure race? They seem more popular at the min.

Don't know of any triathlons, but as MG says you could try an adventure race. The Cooley Raid (http://www.cooleyraid.com/) is coming up soon, I did the photos for it last year and it looked like an awesome event!

Looks like an interesting race. I don't have access to a mountain bike though which isn't a bad thing in itself because I hate them! To much wasted energy trying to keep it in a straight line with all that suspension nonsense! Give me a nice road bike any day.

I was looking at the cooley raid myself but it looks like its £110 per person to enter. Thats a bit steep.

I was thinking of an "alternative" adventure race. It would combine speed, endurance, agility, self defence and unarmed combat. All you need to do is dress yourself in a Celtic/Rangers football strip, then saunter past the opposite supporters club at kicking out time.........

Sounds interesting let me know how you get on ;)

Chris each to their own eh. I enjoy mountain biking more than road biking as theres a lot more to think about when your flying down somewhere like Tollymore, Woodburn, Ballycastle, Glenariff, Glenarm forest etc thats when the suspension nonsense comes into play ;D

True... although I have to say theres plenty to think about on a road bike when you've got car drivers to contend with ;)

Yea have done a bit of road biking in my time. Had a few near misses think thats why i like the forests and hills at least the only thing you have to watch out for are the walkers and hikers. Better odd's of coming out in one piece with them than cars ;D
