Hi Guys
Planning on walking from Lisburn to Belfast along the Lagan Tow Path this Sunday.
As you all know I am going up Kilimanjaro and this is part of my training and would love for some company.
Plan to get the 1137 from Great Victoria Street so meet at 1120.
Any takers?

I'm not about either. It'd be interesting to hear what you think of the tow path. Never been on it but I thought of using it to get to work instead of cycling down the lisburn road, I hear it's quite narrow tho.

any details on the route? length, flatness, and what pace will you be doing? walking/running
i take it its not a sunday afternoon family stroll 8)
(glad i wasn't at my dinner when i saw that pic above >:( )

I know it is 12 miles. Be looking at doing a mile every 20 minutes. It's mostly flat all the way. Hope you can make it.

unlikey i can go and if i do it'll be with the little un so a slow pace and maybe just the first section, but its pencilled into the calendar just in case

I've walked the towpath from Stranmillis to Blaris (Sprucefield) and cycled from Blaris to Stranmillis and back to Sprucefield. Both means have been enjoyable. The path is mostly flat and any inclines are gradual and not too taxing.
Depending on the day and time it can either be quiete or a little busy, particularly around the Belfast end ie from Stranmillis to just beyond Shaws Bridge. Beyond that on towards Lisburn is quieter.
It's a fabulous walk with plenty to look at. You might even see the Seal near to the lock gates at Stranmillis. Try this link for more info:-

Enjoy.
