after walking about Donard Wood asking strangers if they'd seen a camp with a pirate flag ::) I thought it would be an idea to have an NI-Wild sew on patch for the rucksack just in case we meet one another in passing, maybe one exists already? could even get your forum name sewn on, or is that going too far ;D
-
Agree. Perhaps if a patch was designed maybe Surf Mountain would act as a medium to have the patch made and they could sell it at a small cost. It would get NI-Wild members into their stores. It would save the sometimes awakward approaches to strangers.
Would it be desireable to have something that could be moved from a piece of kit to another eg from a rucksack to a jacket or hat?
-
A good idea methinks, maybe a design competition is in order! :-X
-
maybe use the jolly rodger, maybe i'll just bring my own flag next time ;)

Sew loop velcro to he back of it...then hook velcro to all the places you wanna put it. Simples.

Yup, similar has been talked about (http://www.ni-wild.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=451.15) before....IMHO keep it simple..just the domain name.

Something like this could be made easily.
Signature works in Bangor will make embroidered patches.
Set up is expensive but production is not too bad.
£30 + VAT SET UP
ONLY ABOUT £1.70 EACH AFTER THAT.
This is ok if you order 70 or 80 but not great if you need 5 or 6.
-
nice work, might clutter it but could also add canoe, mountain bike and maybe a little land rover driving up the hill ::)
maybe less is more ;)
-
LOL... I think my limited ability to draw might be stretched there ..
This was only a rough idea to see what others submit.
-
This is an idea with some potential. I'd definitely consider patches / badges / stickers etc. However, we still don't have an overly acceptable logo that we can use on advertising mediums. Something like the one Blokarter did above would be spot on if not on a black background. Anyone who wants to have a pop at a logo would have my undying gratitude (and if Blokarter emailed me a Photoshop original for his logo that would be awesome too :))
Question is, if we did create this sort of thing would people buy them? We don't have any actual money as the whole shooting match costs more than the advertising makes.
-
i'm sure all active members would throw in a few quid to cover the costs. I'd be happy to.

I think Mark's logo is a step in the right direction! Design looks pretty much spot on, just think the colours need tweaked to suit the site.
I'd chip in for a patch, although personally I don't know if I'd have much use for one! Would be more interested in paying a few quid more for something like a beanie hat with the logo embroidered on it, but perhaps an NI-Wild clothing range is a bit ambitious at this stage :D
-
NI-Wild stigg perhaps?

Looks awesome but is £22!!

I like it. Just wanted to get the component parts to change the background color to white, try a few diff fonts and see how it would stretch to different sizes for different uses.
It isn't done on photoshop so wouldn't be a PSD file. I will see if an exported PNG will open in Photoshop.
I only put it together to see if maybe others would have a go.
The colours are fully editable. If anyone has suggestions for changes I will have a go.

Yup. :)

It's not embroidered but http://www.spreadshirt.co.uk/create-your-own-t-shirt-C59 can print logo/text onto a beanie. £10.90 +2.20p&p for one. Got to be others, happened to trip over this one on my travels..
-
I would through in a few quid aswell.
-
I'd be happy to put some money in.
-
I've posted a poll at the link below where people can vote for the stuff they'd like and make suggestions.

Forgot all about this thread.
Has anyone else done a logo ? Here is another idea with better colours.
-
Looks good mate.
-
The less colours means the lower the price if it was ever needed to be screen printed.
-
good work again but i think it looks a little too neat and not so "wild" !!!
i have something in my head with a tent, campfire and a mountain, maybe even a canoe poking in from the side, if only i could draw in on the computer (i'm all talk and no action 8) ), i'll see if i can do rough sketch, then you can have a good laugh at mine ;D
-
ok, so here's something close to what i have in mind, i've copied someome elses logo, and pasted (badly) in a canoe and some water, then added to NI Wild text, you can spend all night trying to choose a font !!!!
-
Would so much colour be required?
In my experience with logos and stuff like this "less is more"
-
Those are pretty damn good. Simple colours are good for certain circumstances but since I have an eye on artwork for a whole variety of reasons the multicoloured stuff is good too.
-

not really, yes it needs sto be much simpler, a sort of lineart picture (with a wide brush)
here's the logo a got the canoe from, nice and simple
(http://highlandscouts.org/Images/canoeclub.gif)
and here's a nice lineart sample
(http://www.belhavenbay.org/content/media/PC%20version%20final%20access%20logo1.jpg)

ok so here's a VERY rough sketch on the innards of my brain
don't know if its obvious but i've used the compass as a sun (maybe coluds would be more appropriate though ::) ) and incorporated a canoe, tent/tarp, campfire with cooking pot (yes thats what its supposed to be ;D ) some mountains and a we path up them
maybe we could have a logo competition and get a company to sponsor a wee prize ;)
