Title: Pro-action Hike on eBay
Post by: ChuckMcB on July 26, 2010
Just got an alert on a pro-action hike dropping onto eBay. Starting bid is £25, not exactly a bargain, but they are hard to get hold of, light solo double skinned tent (as all the regulars will know (http://www.ni-wild.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=search2&search=pro+action+hike)...'cos there are a fair number of us with them :) ) Click the pic.

just wondering here, what weight would a light tent be?

It's a personal choice thing but I always reckon anything 2kg and under is decent and anything <1.5kg is great. The Pro Action is about 1.7kg or so.

Yup, it's 1.7kg ex. pegs (which I dumped and replaced with plastic ones..work better in the Mournes peaty soil IMHO).

When Argos reduced them to £17.99 I was going to buy the lot and put them on eBay. Wish I had - they'd go for £35 a time easy now.
Hike Lite also did a very reasonably priced down sleeping bag. You'd have to assume it would be equally awesome.

my 2 man tent weighs in at 3kg (with full bag of metal pegs), for the sake of just over a kilo i think i'd rather bring the 2man (no, not sharing with anyone else, i like my personal space  ;D ) and lose 2 tins of beer from the 24 pack  ::)

thinking about it, but if i do it will be a last minute decision as i've a lot on at the weekend, if i bring my tent will someone steal my poles so i have to make a bivvy  ::)
