Post by: NeilB on July 13, 2010
Like the title suggests guys looking for a good backpack that would keep a 13 inch laptop and SLR nice and safe, secure and dry.
Any suggestions?

I've always stuck to the Lowepro range of cases for my camera.  You can check out some of their backpacks here (http://www.warehouseexpress.com/backpacks-lowepro/b3018-m153).  Keep an eye out for the "AW" (all-weather) range which usually have a rain cover.  I have a Mini-Trekker and whilst it doesn't take a laptop there is a similar version which has a padded slot for sticking your laptop in to.  Mine has been out in some pretty wet weather and on a few flights and would definitely recommend them.

There's a bit more chatter here  (http://www.flickr.com/groups/ukstrobists/discuss/72157618435434208/)about laptop/DSL bags if that helps at all.

I could do with a better DSLR bag. Don't need to carry a laptop but would like one with enough room for camera/flash/2nd lens but that was easy to get gear out of in a hurry.

Lowe Pro as suspect mentioned are the ticket, the do a range (or a bag) called the "slingshot" which is designed for easy access in a hurry.
