I attended the sit on top on top kayak awareness course yesterday at Cranfield run by CANI and just wanted to say how worthwhile I found it, Rodger Hamilton presented it excellently and it was great fun in the water with a serious side to it that demonstrated in easy stages, self rescue, assited rescue, coastal and river hazards plus the role of the coast guard and how to utilize them properly. Loads of info about taking the next steps in qualifications such as coastal navigation and VHF radio procedures, to name just two . I also met a lot of like minded people keen on various asspects of the sport all eager to gain experience.
So a big thanks to CANI for this free course and a huge recomendation to anyone thinking about going along to the next one.
Tony.
