Just back from Annalong wood overnighter lots of fun had but the rubbish was everywhere :( we did get time to have a quick clean up and burn most of it as it was too much to carry , there where two pop up tents left lying and after 30 min trying to fold them I can understand why the twats left them , 4 of us could not get it into bags provided , we did eventually get it , I think they should be banned as the devil himself must of designed them ,
On a lighter note Avon spray worked for me no bites and the other guys who took the pee when I put it on are covered in red patches (I with held it due to their smartass comments )

So what did you get up to in Annalong. I'm jealous - I love it up there. Nothing better than a few beers round the fire.

Did exactly that few beer round campfire , had a few first timers who have been txting looking to arrange another night :) the polish lad was found walking round naked at 03:30 but I'm blame his polish vodka :) I done Binnian with one while other ones hid in their hammocks, I will be ordering a DD hammock as it was comfy , we had a fox in camp that was brazzen as hell not as fat as your bag snatcher but still as cheeky , I will def be doing another overnighter there with my 2 boys

Sounds brilliant - get'em all signed up to the forum!
We had a few foxes round us last time we were there. Since we were bivvying I was a bit worried I might waken up to find one of them licking my face :)

I was singing the sites praises last night , told them of the walks arranged etc and I have one talked into a summit camp so he says he will def be having a looksee on here :)
Fox licking your face would be a lovely way to wake up :)

I think I've done that once or twice - the runnin' around naked thing. I put it up to the Black Bush. Thankfully, I can get that here, along with my favorite beer - Caffrey's!

hey guys,
this is my first post on here, but thought I would pick up on the comments about the amount of rubbish in Annalong wood. I took my little sister for a night in the mountains in august. She did several years in the scouts and was used to sleeping in tents, but had not banked on me just bringing a tarp. She was not impressed by the open sides! As we went searching for wood for a campfire the true scale of the rubbish problem became clear. It was disgraceful!! anyway we sat around the fire and enjoyed some sibling banter until night fell and she was tired. As i was eventually drifting off to sleep she woke me up and was doing her best 'blair witch' impression with her torch. she could hear rustling in the woods. When i told her it was probably just a fox or badger, it didnt improve her mood and she was convinced she was going to have her face eaten off. I eventually ventured out with my torch and my torch met a small badger at the big campfire ring in the middle of the wood, with its snout buried inside a packet of cheese and onion mcCoys! It stared me out for a small while before turning around and heading for home. Now correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think badgers can operate a self serve checkout in asda to buy these crisps? The people who litter these woods will have alot to answer for as a generation of obese badgers grow up wondering where there next fix of cheese and onion or swig of tennants is going to come from next. Why can they not take their rubbish home and burn what they can on their fire. Its laziness, Pure and Simple. -THE END- lol
