Hi Guys,
What mapping software do you use?
I was thinking about buying some but not sure which one.
Thanks

Tuff map are pretty good. Comes in 1:50 and 1:25. I find the 1:25 the best, not very soft though ;)

You will probably receive a flock of recommendations for Mapyx QUO (http://www.mapyx.com/) as there are a few of us (myself included) who use this software.
You can download the full QUO mapping software for free, but of course the actual maps all have to be purchased. There are some open source maps you can download for free that will give you a flavour for the program and help you decide whether or not its for you. Personally I currently only have the 1:25k Mournes map installed, but for £14 +VAT its already proved very useful for planning/logging trips and producing route cards that I can leave with my folks before I head out.
That said, I still have and bring a "proper" map on trips. Usually the OSNI 1:25k or 1:50k maps, but I'm pretty partial to the Harveys 1:30k maps even though the areas they cover are much more limited. They often have the summits details at 1:15k as well and in my opinion are the perfect compromise between the detail of a 1:25k and the scale of a 1:50k.

/me makes like a sheep and flocks to Mapyx.
Got the 1:25k Mournes, plus two or three 1:50k tiles (at £1.89 a pop....or 10 for £16.99).
I never use it on the mountain, like Chris, always have my Tuff (now called LAM-FOLD...and twice the thickness) waterproof OSNI 1:25k in my map pocket.
Never tried any other software so can't compare.

Cheers,
Might have to invest in Mapyx.
Any thoughts on Memory Map?

My vote goes for Mapyx too. I should point out that I've never used any alternatives and after so long with no digital mapping for NI when I got it I was like a child tasting chocolate for the first time. Maybe someone should give one of the others a whirl for comparison.

Thats not the NI-Wild way :P ;D Pro Action Hike Lites, OMM Villians, Mapyx etc. Seeking alternatives is futile ;)
