Hi all,
Was just wondering what your favourite wild camp spots that you've tried? In mournes or otherwise.
I've only wild camped in mournes a few times and my favourites so far have been:
1. On top of Bearnagh - Something about a summit camp, watching the sun go down, looking out over northern ireland, seeing the lights as far as belfast, then watching the sun come up the next day. For anyone who hasnt been up, bearnagh is great for a camp, quite a large grassy area between the two torrs.
2. Annalong forest - I camped just outside the forest, so i had the views of the valley and mountains but fire wood was still very handy. Its hard to beat a fire at night!! excellent views looking up annalong valley.
I think them two are pretty common, i'm sure they're is lots more places to find!! ;D
so whats your favourites?

They are both top spots. I'd agree that much as I love the forest, it's nice to watch the sun go down (but still have an ample wood supply)
For the number of wild camps I've had in the last year they've nearly all been to the same few places. The only place I could add would be Salt Island. There's nothing like the splendid isolation of knowing you've got a mile of water between you and civilization.

Mine is on the coast in Donegal at a beach called murder hole . When tide is in your cut off so running round naked is not a prob :) no light pollution from anywhere and if you climb up rocks you can watch sun set over Tory island . There is also a big cave to hide in if weather turns and plenty of fire wood

Was a bit of a slope, but we were that tired. It didn't matter

You'd get a shock if you accidently rolled off Binnian in the middle of the night!

Not much of a lough more a big puddle mate. It's worth a recce but not a great camp. But I did notice some spots in between cove and beg, also I'd love to camp at the top of the devils coachroad. I'm sure you could squeeze a few tents/bivvis in somewhere.

You'd want to be extra careful taking a widdle in the middle of the night up there :D
