Post by: chris on May 24, 2010
I'm off work tomorrow, planning on heading into the hills for a bit. Anyone fancy it?

Doh. If you'd mentioned it a day or 2 earlier - I'm off but I've got to wait at home for Pete. I'll be up there on Wed to do the Annalong Horseshoe if you fancy.

I've not heard from Andy so I'm assuming he can't make it. I'm still game.

Never got the email j but cheers for the offer maybe nxt time . Headed up binnian  and then up slivelamagan over to cove slieve Beg then home along valley . Weather was great and the wind was an added bonus keeping me cool . Bad parts I burnt top of my head never noticed till I jumped into hot shower which I jumped out off even faster :) . Annalong forest some titheads camped and left their tents sleeping bags and all rubbish behind . Total mess I am hoping to get up sometime nxt wk to clear it all . One of the tents is a pro action think that's the one you all rave about .

It's a real shame we didn't meet up with you since we did nearly the same walk. We did Binnian, Lamagan, Cove, Beg, Donard, Annalong Valley and home. Couldn't be more sore  ;D

Not quite the same, but I did a walk recently from the same starting point, going straight up the valley, stopping off at the cave marked, climbed up the Devil's Coachroad then followed that route the opposite way over Beg, Cove, Lamagan and Binnian.

Plenty of messing about in the cave, relaxing at lunch time half-way down Lamagan and scrambling around the North Torr, Back Castles and Summit Torr on Binnian.  As a guide, we walked from about 10am to 5:30pm.  The thought of adding Donard to the day seems a bit tough.
