I was lucky to have the opportunity to go walking in the Annalong Valley and Rocky Mountain area on Saturday 8 May. While climbing the path underneath Cove Mountain and Slieve Beg towards The Brandy Pad I came upon a plaque on a large rock bearing the name "Gordon Campbell, Himalayas July 1998." I've Googled this without sucess. Anyone know anything about this?
While having a break at the stile at The Bog of Donard I saw a teenager amongst a group of rather casually dressed people. She was wearing Uggs and had her handbag slung over her shoulder! Does this kit have speacial properties as it looks a lot lighter than a well packed 35L ruck with what I thought would be essential equipment eg fleece, waterproofs, first aid kit, food & drinks. :)
