Title: Antrim Hills way and moyle way
Post by: andy1984 on April 29, 2010
Hi all,

Just wondering if any of you have done either the antrim hills or moyle way?

I was thinking of trying one of these in full i think they are around the 20mile mark. Just wondering your thoughts on them? worth doing? what would be a good place to camp half way ( or i might try it in 1 day  :-\). I'd like to do it sometime soon when i get a free weekend and of course any1 would be welcome to join me.

Cheers

andy

We walked about 12 miles of it on a Sat night with a camp in one of the forests around there. Is a great walk, would highly recommend it as the Antrim Hills are wildly under-rated.

We done part of the Moyle way when we done Troston. It was really good. Billybackpack knows his way around that area he should be able to point you in the right direction.

I've done the Antrim Hills Way but not the whole Moyle Way, as J says thay are totaly under rated for what they can offer. So it certainly would be a good warm up, but the Wall is a different kind of challange completely :P

I can tell you that the wee route J and I took was crackin and not too strenuous and we found a superb bivvy spot !

The best thing is it could be done after work say on a Friday and you could still be home for lunch Saturday easily.

Incidently I've been toying with the idea of a camp on Agnews Hill to add to the Summit Camp list !

We just have to find time and get it done, unfortunately the next couple of weeks are pretty full on with the Family Camp and Nevis looming !

And of course there is work commitments to take care of !

We should plan to do one of these maybe with a overnighter?

Even if we leave it until after your ben nevis trip

I'd be up for this as an overnighter.

No, i'd prefer the overnight option and enjoy the walk!
