Ben nevis prep trip?

I was thinking especially for those of us heading over to ben nevis, it might be a good idea to organise a trip before we go. It would allow us to test kit, work out the packing, kit lists etc. If you guys were up for it we could think about heading down to Macgillycuddy's Reeks and tackling Carrauntoohil. I think there may be a bit of scrambling involved depending on the route so we could gain experience there.
Its just a thought but I think it would be a good exercise, or if you guys can think of somewhere you'd rather go.

Nothing solid. I was just testing the water to see if you guys would be interested, I'll do a bit of research and see what come up. Sometime in March or early April would prob be best that way we've time to get things sorted and we're not trying to squueze it in before we go

I was just on the Kerry Mountain Rescue web site and it's certainly interesting reading all the incidents they have had to deal with from 1966.

Would def be up for it, tho gettin time off work could be a prob (i take it, it would have to be a 3day trip as its in kerry), im already havin to take a week off at the end of april for a bushcraft course in the lake district then prob have to take off another for cmd in june. Think i will sit this out guys and train for cmd in the glenveagh (errigal has great scree) and bluestack mountains... bit closer to home so can be done over a sat/sun.

I told you its ankleS! Of course I will! Right lets narrow it down to a list of possibles, then we can sort dates then we can sort out how we're gettin there! Its 286miles from my house in Dromara so thats about 6hrs of a journey.
I reckon you could bomb down on a friday afternoon, pitch a tent (either there or as far as you've driven) Do the deed on sat, dinner at the tents and then back up home for tea and scones on Sunday. Job done
That way its pretty much car camping so you could wack a 4 man tent, food, stove, etc in each car assuming we drive.
Do you think that would be unreasonable?
