Hate this intro bit but ere goes.... im a bit of a kayaker and a bit of a runner wit the odd wee beer inbetween.....wud be really interested tho in seein if theres people who are into foraging for wild foods.. all the groups seem to be in england....im aware of the bushcraft ni peeps but bein that im a bunny hugger im not into the whole hunting/fishing aspect of it....just like rummaging through hedgerows an wud be nice to find sum other rummagers :)

Ellos welcome to the forum - the only foraging i have done in the past is post festiVal beer and bean foraging!! I like a bit of kayaking too- come and join us down in the canoe and kayak section!!

Welcome Emma. No shortage of bushcafters around here. I like a bit of bushcrafting myself but I could see foraging ending badly - I'd prob poison myself :D

Mouldsy is your man for wold food. The NIBA well down the road of getting a permanent site and wild food days are definitely on the agenda. Watch this space ;)

Sounds good.....yeah think mite have met him b4 at a wild food thing i went to at carnfunnock country park....he seemed to knmow his stuff alrite :)

That's him. The NIBA will be running events at Carnfunnock in the very near future, with Mouldsy leading the wild plant walks, both for Carnfunnock Park and for the NIBA. We will post up dates etc as we confirm them with Larne Council.

what's the dilemma, beer or mushrooms.
Seriously though I think there is enough room for all here and remember that bunny hugging is fine, but some day the bunny may have to be...... ;)
With my foraging skills we would all go hungry.
