Title: A wee intro
Post by: Hilstab on July 27, 2012
Hey there,

I'm new to the forum and want to say hi. Just back from a fab day in the Mournes, Annalong valley, Rocky Mountain etc and now settling down with a glass of my homemade nettle beer.

Cheers

Yeah the nettle beer is outstanding. Only made 12l this year, definitely more next time. Going to try a rosebay willowherb champagne next.

Would you be able to make a tutorial on how to make these lovely drinks?

The name rosebud willowherb champagne just gets the tastebuds going.

Hey Oisín,
I recommend the book 'Booze for free' by Andy Hamilton if you feel like foraging and brewing. I used his nettle ale recipe which comes from a guy called Stonehead.
I used this one: http://stoneheadcroft.com/2006/04/18/dont-spray-those-nettles/ and used ale yeast.

Enjoy
