The proposed trip on Sunday 6th May didn't work out but it is a cracking campsite so I'm planning a visit next Friday evening (18th May) if anybody fancies it.

I'll probably leave straight from work and arrive at camp around 19:30.  Not sure what route I will be taking yet, that will be dependant on the weather  ::)

It's been a while since I've been out with you all so hopefully there will be a few people free for night around a fire.  I would also like to do a bit of bushcrafty type stuff but again don't know what that will entail yet.  Might just be cooking a rabbit or something over the fire  :P

I'm still planning on taking a Dander up, weather permitting. Just going up to relax and enjoy the scenery so if the weathers bad I might end up giving it a miss. This one not intended as an endurance test  ;)

After contacting Dowser me and a few mates camped out here on Fri and Sat night. Rain on Fri night, dry on Sat. On the Fri night I was fully waterproofed up but got into my bivvi in the wet waterproofs ... by the morning I was dry.

Got a good bit of fuel from the steep slope across the river, mostly dead gorse. Some tiny birch saplings emerging here which I hope can escape the sheep. In the wooded area there is very little regeneration, which is a pity because the mature trees are mostly oaks. There is little wood lying, so not much fuel. We climbed Luke's Mountain on the Saturday for a dander.

There were a pair of grey wagtails nesting just upstream, adults constantly carrying food to their young, there were five chicks in the nest.

Think we left the place pretty tidy, tidier than it was actually.

This looks a nice spot! where exactly on the map is it?
And is there much flat land to place a big 6man at all?

If you scroll to the right so you see all of the picture, you'll see the blue line takes you right to it.
