All being well if i make through the Belfast marathon i'll be taking part in this.
silly question maybe but are the water/feeding posts near roads, or do you end up carrying food/water for 300 people 10 miles into the mournes? lol;D most of the route is along main roads, trek it only vears off into the mourne a little bit

I'm about to submit my location preference for marshalling at this event. Where is everybody else from NI Wild going? I'd like to team up with somebody from the forum.well truth be told i've not told Ian where i want to go yet,but i'am thinking the Trassey station, there will be myself,Ed.Fisherfelim & my pal lenny
Thanks.
George
??? 0op's change of plan,as we've a four wheel drive we'll be running the station under Hen & the turnng point at Windy gap,ps Ed mate you're sorted for a lift home if needed ;D.Meeting Ian at Kilbroney park at 8AM
It's the longest... Marathon and everyone comes from Newcastle end, it's the last one.
Us ultra people will also pass through it around 7am.
Newcastle, Trassey, Spelga, Hen track, Leitrim lodge...
So do we stay in the chosen rest point for 12 hours? lol excuse my ignorance, i'm still a bit clueless about the whole event ???
Thanks
Lisa

thats my interpretation too.
Surfnscenic - Personally, i don't know what station i'm at. I dont know much to be honest lol
i volunteered too,but was just told to report to kilbroney at 08:00am,and dont know where i'll be or what i'll be doing!! would have preferred to be in position and know what is required, so i can prepare myself,a bit more communication would have been nice,i also was in contact with ian last week and have heard nothing since!!you're more that welcome to join me,ed,fisher felim at the hen, windy gap station,we'll be meeting Ian at 8am in Kilbroney
Thanks George, my bottle-filler extraordinaire! Great day, but yes, the streams were high and many (the course was altered in Tollymore as I think the stepping stone were submerged), and mud everywhere... I loved it 8)
Great success compared to my effort last year - 10hr 09m by my Garmin. Last 10K was gnarly: my body is falling apart... but pains over-ridden by satisfaction. Will blog it all next some day soon.
Hope the other guys in the various events had fun.
well done to the marshalls, events like this couldn't happen without people like you,
