Hi guys, I've got the chance to get to Rams Island early this year ;D. Let me know if you would like to go and what Saturday would suit and I'll get something arranged.
Let me know if you prefer to bring the kids or keep it for the adults, I'm easy either way
£10 per adult
£5 per child
Includes return on boat and a nights camp

Id be keen on this with potentially 1 or 2 friends also interested. No kids is defo my vote although I do know that little folk love to camp.
If this date includes kids I'd be happy to wait for a future childfree date.

Actually count us out for this date as Fathers Day is Sunday 19 June. Will keep an eye out for future dates

Ah, no! Didn't know that lol. How about the week after? Sat the 25th. Does that suit everyone? No kids this time and I'll arrange a kid freindly one a few weeks later. That way people can suss out what they need to bring when they have the wee ones. Let me know guys and I'll book it today.

Great place to camp and a joy to visit.
Might be worth checking when the nesting season finishes?
I remember a couple of years back being advised that certainly May was out, but cannot remember if June was okay or not.

I'm booking Sat the 25th of June and I'll post here when it's confirmed.
I've been there a few times a year for at least the past 5-6 years and its perfect for wild camping, let me know if you want to go

I went with a guy who fished there once and he didn't catch a thing. Its in lough Neagh so whatever the usual fishing methods would be. I do know there are eels there

A bit early in the season for me, caravan weather at the moment but will definitely have to get back over in the autumn, it's a cracking spot.

Thanks for following this up. We can not go that weekend as we are doing some of the festival walks. Will keep an eye out for future dates.

RedLeader, could you organise another date over the summer for a Rams Island camp and post it at the top of the board? I will arrange the boat and maybe we can get some numbers like the Christmas camps get.
I think a big camp with 10+ people would be amazing there.

Hey Guys, I gotta say that this sounds like a really cool trip.
We have so many places to see and things to do in this wee country of ours, and you're getting out there and doing it!
Unfortunately I can't tag along on this trip but hope you have a good night, the weather holds out and look forward to hearing all about it.

Nice one Heggs, looks like you all had a whale of a time, but then you can't go wrong in such an amazing location. Will be up for the next outing.
We had a great trip a few weeks ago up on the NE coast, Garron Point and the Sallagh Braes. Getting a video sorted soon.

I'd never heard of Rams Island till last week, when I was catching up with the goings on here on the forum.
I'd been offline for a few weeks and can't believe I totally missed this one... Doh!!! >:(
It looks like it was an excellent trip/camp, and I see there were a lot of members couldn't make it that weekend, so maybe we could organise a similar trip for later in the year. I know I would be mad keen.
It's great to see you all making the most of what our wee Island has to offer.
