I'm going to take a run (err, walk) into Donard Wood in the morning to reccy out camping spots and have a look around etc.
I know it's short notice but anyone who wants to join me is more than welcome. I'd aim to be at Donard car park at 10ish and not up for too long.

It always handy camping up near the Ice house. once you reach the gate on the right hand side follow the wall into donard wood.
Here the ground is pretty flat, plenty off wee spaced trees for all you tree read hammock dwellers and plenty of fire wood/rings to use. Aslo plenty of cold n' cold running water thanks to the glen river.

Might join you in the morning if I can drag the boys out off bed in time.
Other half is off to work for the day so a good chance to meet up.

Excellent, I'll send you a text in the morning. If I can drag my ass out of bed I'm hoping to leave at 9ish. Think I'll take the trangia for some bacon!

Will be very interesting to see all the different takes on overnighting with regards to kit ie.... tarps, tents stoves, food etc I'm sure we're not all Grylls, Mears, or Stroud types.

who owns the bear!

That is Honey-Hound of Ulster's dog. A collie lab x according to USPCA ;) which has turned out to be more of a Newfoundland - much bigger but friendly :)
