Bit of random one here but I'll give it a go :)
Simply put we are after a puppy. Two adults and two kids [7yo girl and 12 yo boy]. We live in a house with a decent back garden and the dog will see plenty of exercise and attention. Both me and my wife have grown up with dogs and the kids are well used to my Mum's Jack Russell.
Do you know of pups looking a good home? Not after a pedigree; ideally I'd prefer a smallish dog although my missus would disagree ::)
Please let me know if know of anything. Willing to travel.

check gumtree, the local dog kennels in downpatrick advertise there and i think they have a jack russell at the moment

Check the dog sancturys as it's very surprising what you can find there , we have got a cocker spaniel 2yr old with papers and fully trained and our last dog we got was a lurcher one of the best dogs we have ever owned ,

My only lead [terrible pun, I know] was the Dogs Trust in Ballymena; now I have a load more. Thanks (http://forum.multitool.org/Smileys/default/541.gif)

plenty of dogs in them rescue places. but try to get something under 5 or 6 months old
if it was me getting a new dog, i'd get a cross, something like collie x greyhound or bedlington x whippet, can live outside ok, good healthy breeds.smart so easy trained, good energy but not hyper. not too big (fits in boot of car easily).
just me but i'd get a hunting bred dog, as they always seem to have decent health and intellect, added to this it can be used to catch a rabbit for dinner ;D.

Quick update ;D
Meet Charlie. He's not from the pound or rescue centre. My mother in law knew a man whose lab had a litter of pups but was asking silly money. Anyhoo, as he only had a few pups left she managed to negotiate a more afforable price which she paid :) Charlie arrived unannounced on Wednesday night :o
Thanks for everybody's help. Hopefully these links will help others :)

Welcome Charlie,
May you have endless fun and friendship with your new Daddy. Hopefully see you up the hills or in a forest during daylight hours lol.

Not meaning to be nosey.. . .. But how much do those type of dogs cost these days?
I know we got our lab from the rescue center, cost us about £50 and that was micro chipped and what not.

Lovey dog. Labs are great dogs

Vets4Pets in Bangor are having an open day July 2nd and are doing free micro chipping, if anyone needs their dog chipped.
