SpecimanYak - I found it on ni-libraries too....hoping to pick it up in Belfast; quick query on the wee pic you attached - is it available to buy per what I saw there?

It's not available to buy from the library, it's the retail price of the book and how much it would cost to replace if the book was lost, but with the SELB numbers and ebay/Amazon something might turn up.

Hi Hud,
I bought a book from Tescomos about folklore and leg ends from the North. The storyteller was from the Annalong direction and basically wrote the book from stories he was told when he was a nipper. Can't remember the title, but as Anna said it was near the map section and cost around 7 to 8 quid.
Enjoy..

In the Mourne Observer this week (in the Man about town section) theres a new book mentioned 'The unexplained in Co Down' Ghosts, Legends, myths and Folklore.  by Annaclone Historical Society. Includes stories from Banbridge, Rathriland, Annaclone, Dromore, Castlewellan, Downpatrick, Newcastle, Portaferry, Mourne and many other areas..  "Its billed as being of particular interest to those who are fascinated y the legends, folklore and unexplained in their local area..  The book will  be available to purchase at the offical launch night Friday October at 7.30pm in Annaclone Hall. It will later be available at local shops or by contacting members of the Annaclone historical society.. Kieran heenan ( 40631378), Michael Wallace (07808800909) and Pauline Mccroroy (40628126)" . Hey Liam; yes amazon came good and got a perfectly fine second hand copy! It was actually for a good friend of mine, the book. Every time we were up the hills with a young group he would start with the stories from it; a fellow mountain leader had it and he was hooked. He had said he'd searched for it high and low so thought it'd be a nice wee gift if I could get it. He was made up when he opened it!!!
