Here are some pictures from the NIBA day out.

Unfortunately, the place had been visited by the Booze up Brigade

The day's task was to construct an "A" frame or leaf litter shelter.

The main frame constructed

Inside the shelter.

the frame was covered in brush wood

A thick of bracken was added.

This was covered in a layer of leaf litter. it needs to be about a metre thick to make the shelter waterproof.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME ALONG.

Looks like it was a great day out, shame I couldn't make it. Shame also about the chav litter - sign of the times I suppose.

The shelter looks excellent - do you often make one and then sleep in it?

We don't do it all that often, but I have slept in that type of shelter before. Not perhaps the most comfortable way to spend the night, but at least you will be warm and dry. I still prefer my Hammok, lol.

I've had a hammock 5 months and still not managed to have a night in it. I really need to get out more...
