Title: How to post events
Post by: admin on May 20, 2009
At the moment all members can post events. To post an event either go to the calendar and click the 'Post Event' link at the bottom of the page. You will now get a normal topic posting form with some additional text boxes for information. Complete the form (it is all self explanatory) and submit the topic. Now the post will appear as a normal topic to which people can reply and will also show on the calendar on the date(s) you chose.

Editing an event you have posted works slightly differently to editing a normal post. You can still edit the topic title and body by clicking 'Modify' as usual but this will not let you amend the calendar information. If you want to edit the calendar specific information click the red * above the first post (it is in a box titled 'Linked Events')

Please do not post any events that are not relevant to the outdoors theme of this forum.

If you want to send individual or bulk events to be posted for you just email them to the address here (http://www.ni-wild.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2160)

This is a work in progress. Please feel free post any suggestions for amendments beneath.

@admin: is there anyway to make the calendar a bit more 'visible'? Could it be added to the main portal so that folks can see the next X number of events?

There are tonnes of things going on out there, but I'm thinking that they will get lost closer to the time because the forum post will be well buried...

(perhaps multi-day events would have to be removed for next X number of events panel to work)

Good work Admin, that was quick off the mark, works well and brings to notice all those events that were hidden in the calendar.

Nice. Thanks Mr Admin.
Don't even need to worry about them pesky multi-day events...oh and the blog gets pimped as well :)
