You only gave us 80 minutes. I was still thinking. In fact I still am thinking - 3 is a hard choice. Are you talking purely favourite bits of kit or 3 things I wouldn't want to get caught without?

Hmm. In that case:

1) Mini trangia (There's something about an alcohol stove that really makes you feel like you're outdoors)
2) GPS (I like to keep it on so I can upload my track to the computer)
3) Titanium cup (Now I have a cup I can boil water in it's totally changed my cooking systems)

A noteable mention for the bivvy bag just because I really love the idea of ultralight bivvying rather than camping.

I totally reserve the right to change mine since I was rushed  ;)

no. I always bring dry base layers to sleep in. I find thats the worst thing about a down bag though you do feel like your babysitting it a bit but.....when you get into it, best feeling in the world on a cold night ;D

Only really because I can stick it straight on the gas. Used to be that if I only carried one pot then once I had used it to cook it a proper clean before I could use it to boil water for a hot drink. Now that I can boil in the cup lots of my pot based menu dilemmas have gone. Only problem now is the cup wont go straight on the Mini Trangia but I'll eventually come up with some sort of contraption!!
