Bernagh! Do we have to go up bernagh for the 7 7's, ahh baaaaaaaalls!

Love it Alan, bearnagh fairly is a leg puller,I reakon if I was you's I'd climb the steps at hare's gap ,but I would then contour round to the left & ascend the summit Tor via the less steep valley that gently contours up,then again,no pain no gain :),ps bacon buddy's can be arranged

I'll bring a firelog.

Anyone fancy attempting to bring down that beer keg? We could bring some rope and make a few lashings.

my only worry would be as its hissing its still under pressure, what's the chance of it blowing  ::) it would take a at least two lashings of rope to control its descent, you'll be surprised at how heavy it is,i've been in contact with a few groups over taking it down  ::)

I have a feeling the keg could become part of the tourist brochures before the National Trust get around to doing anything.

Aye... I'll help u with the Keg Oisin... I kinda feel like its mocking us now! >:(

So it's not just me?  ;D

you'll be surprised at how heavy it is,i've been in contact with a few groups over taking it down  ::)

Well this was the discussion in work today, when I mentioned it. I spoke to a lady who used to work behind a bar and she said usually the keg will hold 88 pints. 80 pints to sell and a boundary of 8 pints as overflow.

So that works out at 50Kg.

It's just calling me as a challenge.

I was lead to believe that all beer kegs are the property of Bass Charrington, the brewers (or similar) and that possession was only legal amongst the licensed trade.  Therefore anyone outside of that trade could not legally have a beer keg eg within the building trades.

Irrespective of who left the thing up there might it not be reasonable to expect that Bass Charrington on being informed of the keg at Donard that they should be responsible for its recovery or at least show some interest in it?  I'm thinking of some form of reward?

For your views.
