I would like to be in Donegal to begin my accent of Muckish (666m) by 5pm on Friday 19th August and I intend to Summit Bivvy Muckish that evening.

"Good moorning, I was just pissing by" :P

I'll stick something up about our trip later on tonight hopefully.  On a different thread, so as not to clog up this one.

This thread has got a bit messy with so many different suggestions for this trip so I'm gonna try and get it back to basics.

Lenny's original plan was this:

"I really enjoyed myself over the weekend (Bloody Bridge Family Camp) and was thinking of doing the same thing one weekend in August in Donegal.  My thought would be to travel on friday evening. Camp friday night, do a activity on saturday, BBQ and fire pit Saturday night travel back sunday. 19th - 21st August 2011 (Friday to Sunday)"

To be honest I may have had a part to play in this thread getting messy because Suspectmonkey suggested the Glover Highlander and it got my juices flowing... I do love a challenge!!!

I have removed my Route Card etc from this thread and placed it into one of it's own called Errigal the Dowser Way just so that you know what my plans are if you fancy a bit of a challenge.  Apologies for any confusion  :-[

I think, from chatting to Lenny yesterday, his plans remain the same... Travelling to Donegal Friday night or early Saturday morning, a quick once up Errigal, and back to the campsite for a bit of craic and a night cap around an open fire.

To get this Trip back on the right track could everbody who is interested in conquering Errigal, then back to the campsite for a BBQ etc say "AYE!" and re-register your interest below please  :)

This will be a great trip whatever way you decide to tackle it and I don't want to see it flounder just because I want to play Action Man  ::)

My plans have changed slightly. I also want a challenge but more relaxed than combat Dowser!!!

I was planing on camping near the base of Muchish and going for a dander Saturday morning around there than driving to the base of Errigal and doing a evening walk up Errigal and meet Dowser at the top before his summit camp. Walk down then decide to drive home or camp and drive back sunday morning.

This way I will get the most out of what the range offers without having to hump all my kit around all weekend.

One of my nephews that was going has gone and broken his arm  :( , we will still be in Donegal that weekend in a holiday cottage so I hope to still be able to do Errigal, camping is unlikely though.

Maybe we could meet in the morning and do it together. I was thinking about going and finding some climbing/bouldering in the afternoon (Weather permitting.)

I never want to see the phrase "inadvertent spooning" ever again unless it's in an awesome stripper story :o  ;D

Quote
does anyone want to share my Vango Tornado.

please fill in the following questionnaire:

1. Would you consider yourself
a - slightly gaseous but can hold it in
b - a right parper
c - silent, but deadly  8)

2. Do you snore:
a - never
b - i've never noticed, but my wife does punch me a lot in my sleep for some strange reason
c - no more than matt  ::)

3. Does your wife know you openly offer to sleep with men:
a - she trusts me 100%
b - she's always keen to learn new things
c - what happens in donegal stays in donegal   :-*

if you answer all a's then you have a chance of success, any b's and money will need to change hands, any c's then you wouldn't even get my teddy bear in that tent

could you also provide width of said tent A, width of said Lenny B.
A-B must be > C + D
[where C is width of tentmate and D is width of the rucksack "wall"  (to prevent inadvertant spooning after a heavy night drinking from either party]

Right, I've just pitched 3 tents on the shores of lough foyle, cracked open a beer and sitting on a deckchair while the kids are happily making sandcastles on the beach, but where is everyone else?  ;D. Have a good time in donard wood everyone, sort of wish I was there but here is very nice too  :)

Liam was probably chased indoors by midges about half an hour after posting this :P
